Picture of the Month - Still Life with Coffee Pot, 1944
For the first half of 2024, Pictures of the Month are marking the 80th anniversary of Edwin's travels when working as a hospital orderly during World War 2. At some point in the second or third quarter of 1944 he was posted to the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, and he soon resumed his studio life in the same studio in Alva Street. This allowed him to resume painting in oils and "Still Life with Coffee Pot", dated 1944, is one of the first he painted.
